Seed Learning’s Survivors’ Smarts Readers is a new nonfiction series that explores both natural and human-caused environmental events around the world. The series explains the contributions of human activity to a variety of environmental disasters including droughts, wildfires, deforestation, microplastics, and hurricanes among many others. Additionally, the series focuses on ways we can design strategies to limit the impact of natural disasters on our lives. Readers will get a glimpse into the history of disasters and learn how they may take steps to reduce the likelihood of these events. Readers will also learn ways to protect themselves and their community. The series aims to raise readers’ awareness of the environmental challenges the environment faces in different parts of the world as well as highlighting the ways humans can make a difference in the world.
